Biography
Paul Devlin is a Scotland-based composer and performer. He holds a BA in Applied Music from the University of Strathclyde where he won the Alexander Stone Award for excellence in Composition. He also holds an MMus in Composition for Screen from London’s Royal College of Music, where he graduated with Distinction in 2015.
Paul has composed award-winning scores for a variety of projects including films, animations, documentaries and web series. Projects featuring his music have been broadcast internationally including throughout the UK, Europe and America. Paul has music published with Universal and Warner Chappell.
Paul has written music for orchestra, concert band, choir as well as educational music for student musicians. His compositions and arrangements have been performed in venues across the UK. In 2014 he was commisioned by Glasgow City Council to write a piece in commemoration of the Jewish Holocaust which was performed in Glasgow’s Royal Concert Hall. His most recent composition, Delirium for Concert Band, was premiered by the Clyde Wind Ensemble at the Scottish Concert Band Festival.
Paul performs regularly with Across The Universe, a celebration of The Beatles’ “studio years”, 1966-1970. The 8-piece band performs with a live orchestra with all orchestral parts transcribed by Paul in painstaking detail.
