ABOUT

Paul grew up in Motherwell, Scotland where he studied tuba and piano throughout school and university. Paul graduated from Strathclyde University's BA Applied Music with First Class Honours, receiving the university's Alexander Stone Award for excellence in the field of Composition. He went on to study an MMus in Composition for Screen at London's Royal College of Music, graduating with Distinction. Paul's studies at RCM were generously supported by a Douglas & Hilda Simmonds Award, the Henry Wood Trust, the North Lanarkshire Educational Trust, a Dewar Arts Award and the Cross Trust.

Since graduating from RCM in 2015, Paul has lived in London composing music for a variety of media projects including films, web series, online interactive games and theatre. He has composed various pieces for the concert hall including several pieces for a cappella choir as well as library music published by Universal and Warner/Chappell.

While in London Paul gained vast experience as an arranger and conductor, working with ensembles such as Real Voices and the London International Choir as well as other individuals and groups. He continued to collaborate with filmmakers and media creators as a composer, winning several awards for his compositions and working on many interesting projects. Paul also has a wealth of experience in orchestrating, programming and music preparation, gained through working on his own wide-ranging projects as well as assisting composers on other projects, including George Fenton.

In 2019 Paul returned home to his native Scotland where he works from his studio in Lanarkshire collaborating with many talented filmmakers, directors and colleagues.
